Universal Joints With Friction or Needle Bearings

The joints are available in single or double jointed versions. These universal joints are known for their precision. They offer minimal play and are long lasting. The allowable RPMs are dependent on load, duration, angular disposition, and lubrication. In ideal applications joints with friction bearings allow for up to 1,000, while those with needle bearings are designed for applications of up to 4,000 RPMs. The universal joints are made of carbon steel, with joint bearing surfaces, pins, and bearing sleeves case hardened. Universal joints with friction bearing are available in bore sizes of 6 mm to 32 mm, while the needle bearing versions are available with bore sizes ranging from 10 mm to 32 mm. J.W.
