Maintenance-free Bearings Take High Loads
Igus will be exhibiting at both Southern Manufacturing and Machine Building in February. The company will be promoting several new products at the two shows, including a new bearing for high load applications. Made from a new, 'extreme' polymer material, which has been developed to compliment the igus range of plastic plain bearings. iglidur Z510 bearings can take loads of up to 300MPa, which means new applications for high-performance, maintenance-free bearings are now possible. The new bearing material withstands permanent operating temperatures of 260 deg C and is extremely chemical resistant. igus will also be unveiling the first all-plastics leadscrew module. Users in handling, automation and packaging often rely on home-made leadscrew solutions, but igus is now offering a cost effective alternative with DryLin SHTP. The lightweight and corrosion-resistant linear module is ideal for simple adjustment and sensory movements on labelling or coding machines in restricted spaces. igus will also be promoting Triflex R Light, a multi-axis energy chain cable carrier for robotic applications. The long-life, modular robot cable guiding system has a new, lightweight, open design for fast and easy cable access. New additions to the igus Chainflex cable range include CFBUS.055 FireWire, a connector cable for digital camera technology, which is newly available for energy chain applications of up to 10m. A data transmission rate of up to 400Mbit/s is now possible. igus UK will be exhibiting on stand M21 at the UK's Southern Manufacturing show at Thorpe Park (8th-9th Feb) and stand C24 at Machine Building at the NEC, Birmingham, UK, (15th-16th Feb).
