SNR At The Start Of The Dakar Rally Raid 2006

After an exceptional prize list 2004 and 2005, SNR continues its partnership with the victorious Mitsubishi Motors TEAM during the Dakar 2006. "We began the year with a victory in Dakar. We finish it with another victory. This is the result of much work." commented Dominique Serieys, the Mitsubishi Motors Team director, on the arrival of the rally of Dubai, on November 14. "We will see whether we can gain Dakar in 2006 once again. The team is ready. We gained 14 of the 16 last competitions with Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero Evolution." The ambitions are clear. The team of the 8 pilots and copilots Stephan Peterhansel/Jean-Paul Cottret, Hiroshi Masuoka/Pascal Malmon, Nani Roma/Henri Magne and Luc Alphand/Picardy Gilles, will be thus well in Lisbon, on December 31, at the start of Dakar 2006, face to 500 other crews. The 28th edition of Dakar will take place from the December 31 to January 15,2006 On the way to Dakar with a 3rd generation SNR bearing SNR takes part to the adventure again, supplying its technology. SNR equips Mitsubishi Motors with 3rd generation wheel bearings (a crimped biflange bearing) which gives the wheel assembly more rigidity and therefore makes it more effective on grounds as varied as difficult crossed during the rally¡¯s raid in Africa. These bearings are the largest of this type developed by SNR. They are also mechatronic: equipped with SNR ASB system (active measurement speed).
