NTN To Open New Roller Manufacturing Plant In Nagano(Pic)
In response to increased demand for constant velocity joints (CVJs) and bearings, NTN Corporation (NTN) is pleased to announce that a new roller production plant has been established in Nagano to accommodate the volume of products that use rollers. It will also reduce costs and mass-produce high precision rollers. 1. Purpose of new company In tandem with higher sales of CVJs, needle roller bearings, rocker arms, cylindrical roller bearings, spherical roller bearings, tapered roller bearings, and other products that use rollers, the demand for rollers is expected to increase around 25% over the next three years. To take advantage of this situation, NTN will open a new plant next to NTN's Nagano Works. The plant will manufacture needle, cylindrical, and tapered rollers, promoting a rapid increase in high precision roller production. Linking its efforts to expanded sales, the plant will improve manufacturing efficiency by reducing expenses and lead time. 2. Future plans The new company, established in December 2005, is projected to commence operations in January 2006. NTN will purchase all the goods manufactured and sales are expected to hit approximately ¥1.7 billion in FY2006 and around ¥7 billion by FY2008. 3.
