Timken buys Bearing Inspection
CANTON, Ohio (AP) - The Timken Co. has acquired Bearing Inspection Inc., a provider of aerospace bearing inspection and reconditioning services, the company announced Thursday. Terms were not disclosed. Bearing Inspection, which has 120 employees, will operate under its existing management in Los Alamitos, Calif., as part of Timken Aerospace Services, becoming Timken's headquarters for those services. Former Bearing Inspection president Drew Baker has been appointed general manager of the combined operations. Timken, a maker of bearings and alloy steel, employs about 26,000 people and has operations in 27 countries. Its shares closed down 6 cents Thursday at $28.25 on the New York Stock Exchange.
