Suzhou Hi-Tech Development Zone--the Future Paradise for Auto Industry

Taiwan Yuanheng Group, the biggest auto wheel manufacturer in Taiwan, invested $90 million to form the Yuancheng Aluminum Products Manufacturing Co.,Ltd in Suzhou city, Jiangsu province of China. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in Suzhou Hi-Tech Zone on April 12. So far, there are more than 40 auto and relevant parts manufacturers settled in Suzhou Hi-Tech Zone, and many of them are world famous auto companies. This new company specialized in aluminum alloy auto wheels. After completion of this plant, its annual output will hit 2 million sets which will be worth $90 million. The products will mainly export to Japan, Europe and America. In recent years, Suzhou New & Hi-Tech Industial Development Zone has developed to an integrated auto industry base. In this Zone, production, sale, training, exhibition, auto culture and logistics are perfectly integrated. Enterprieses settled in this zone are from over 20 countries around the world. For example, TIMKEN-NSK Bearing Co.,Ltd; Mando Suzhou Chassis System Co.,Ltd.(Korea); Suzhou Conqueror Metal Material Co.,Ltd.(Canada) etc. Presently, the Zone are trying to attract more auto enterprises. Now famous auto manufacturers settled in this zone are Buick, Nissan, PEUGEOT, HUNDAI etc. In 2004, the output value of Suzhou Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone had hit RMB1.8 billion, and this figure will break RMB15 billion by 2010.
