China's Export of Auto Assemblies will be Highly Increased in Future

Mr. Shen ningwu, vice general secretary of Chinese Auto Industrial Association(CAIA), said that the export of chinese auto assemblies will highly increase from this year on, as a result of the development of China Auto Industry and the strengthen of China's trading position in the world market. In recent years, lots of changes occured in the export of auto assemblies. For example, the exporting assemblies have been changed from simple product to capital intensive product; from labor and material intensive products to high value added Machinery and Electronic products; from developing country to developed country oriented. Foreign investment attraction and technology introduction become highly increased in the auto assembly industry. Up to 2003, there have been over 1000 enterprises that had introduced foreign technologies. Mr. Rong huikang, vice director of CAIA expert committee, said that the auto assembly industry has seperated from the auto industry as a independent industry. And this trend has become a international standard for the assembly industry. In recent years, manufacturing level and scale of China's assembly industry enhanced steadily, but there still are gap compared with advanced world level. So speeding up the strengthening of domestic auto assembly enterprises will be the first important work. According to Mr. Rong, up to 2010 the GDP of auto assembly industry will hit RMB700 billion.
