F¡¯IS at Hanover Industrial Fair 2005: Condition Monitoring in Focus

Early fault detection with online monitoring is a central theme ¨C Condition-based maintenance helps save costs ¨C Wind turbine nacelle as eye catcher at VDMA booth HERZOGENRATH, March 1, 2005. FAG Industrial Services (F¡¯IS) will make online condition monitoring the focal theme of its participation in this year¡¯s Hanover Industrial Fair from April 11th to 15th, 2005 (INA-FAG booth in Hall 22, Booth A34). Boasting many years of expertise in online condition monitoring, the Herzogenrath service company is presenting well-proven products for different fields of application. In addition to the INA-FAG booth, F¡¯IS will also showcase its products and services on a special booth of the Association of German Machine and Plant Manufacturers, VDMA, in Hall 24 (Booth A18/1), dedicated to the subject of condition monitoring. Eye catcher at this shared floorspace is the huge nacelle of a wind turbine. F¡¯IS will present the certified WiPro system (Wind Turbine Protection System) and provide information about its use in wind turbines. Online condition monitoring is considered to be the most reliable method for early fault detection. It helps avoid costly consequential damage, enables the scheduling of maintenance operations and increases plant availability. Online condition monitoring systems are deployed for monitoring machines and equipment where downtime causes extremely high costs (e.g. paper industry), where damage can progress rapidly (e.g. high-speed machine tools) or where damage represents a potential danger for humans (e.g. ship propulsion systems).
