Linear Modules with Profiled Rail System and Direct Drive

INA Drives & Mechatronics and INA Linear Technology Precise, compact and fully equipped linear modules enable individual postioning systems There are many linear modules, and there are many linear modules with profiled rail systems, but only a small number of manufacturers produce linear drives with profiled rail systems and direct drive. Two of these specialized manufacturers are INA Drives & Mechatronics (IDAM) and INA¡¯s linear technology business unit. The linear modules with profiled rail unit and direct drive from the MKUVS 42-LM series that were presented at the 2004 MOTEK trade show are highly compact and fully equipped units that can be used to carry out precise and reproducibly accurate movement sequences. The modules represent a joint development by IDAM and INA Linear Technology and consist of a very compact and bending resistant rail made from anodized aluminum, a carriage with a cast primary part (linear motor) and added, preloaded linear recirculating ball bearing units KUVS 42. The modules also include an integrated, magnetic incremental length measuring system, and optional components such as covers, two or more carriages, cable holder chain, shock absorbers and pneumatic brakes. In this way, a small number of mechanical parts can be used to create highly dynamic single-axis or multi-axis positioning and handling systems. Thanks to its quality and unusual functionality that offer increased benefits to customers and users, the MKUVS 42-LM is part of the X-life class. X-life is the mark of quality for premium products and services provided by INA and FAG Kugelfischer. In combination with the ready-to-use servo controls that are also available, customers/users can receive a complete solution from a single source. Modules are available with aluminum carrier profiles up to 8000 mm long. They have a very compact design: A 30-mm wide magnetic strip (secondary part) is glued on to a flat, wide profiled rail, and the rail is mounted on the aluminum basic design. The linear module carriage guide is characterized by high load ratings of dyn. C = 27.4 kN and stat. Co = 51 kN, static moments Mox = 1,500 Nm and Moy and Moz = 4,200 Nm. The system achieves acceleration values of up to 40 m/s² and speeds of up to 5 m/s. The nominal force or advancing force of the modules is 300 N (for nominal current of 6.8 A), and the peak force is 610 N (peak current 14 A). The compact linaer modules can be used in temperatures ranging from 0¡ã to +60¡ã Celsius and are suitable for many different applications ¨C preferred for horizontal installation, such as in production automation, in metrology and inspection technology, in optical devices, in printing and packaging technology and for tool and workpiece handling systems as well as in wood processing machines and machine tools. INA-Schaeffler KG consolidates its direct drive and mechatronics activities in INA Drives & Mechatronics GmbH & Co. oHG. INA-Schaeffler KG is a company of the Schaeffler Group.
