NSK Announces Development of EW&EM Series cylindrical Roller Bearings(pic)
FEATURES ¡¤Longer life By redesigning the bearing interior, the EW & EM Series are even more compatible with international standards and applications. Calculation life has been doubled in comparison with conventional bearings, in addition to an increase in the number of rollers. ¡¤High strength cage The pressed steel cage of the EW Series enjoys greater thickness (1.5 to 2 times thicker) when compared to conventional cages. In addition, NSK designed the cage to minimize burr, which has been a source of stress-related problems in the past. The machined brass cage of the EM series has adopted a one-piece design that is free of any rivets, and provides relief from stress that has traditionally been concentrated in the fillet radius of a cage pocket. Overall, cage strength has dramatically improved for both series. ¡¤Low vibration, and less overall noise Unlike conventional cages, the shape and design of the cage pockets of the EW & EM Series cages are extremely precise since there is no pressing after roller insertion. Thus, we were able to design the cage pocket with less free movement. Furthermore, the enhanced accuracy in roller position enables greater control, which helps minimize excess vibration. We have been able to cut vibration resulting in noise by about 30 to 50 percent for the EW Series, and make greater reductions of about 50 to 60 percent for the EM Series APPLICATIONS The EW Series bearings are especially suitable for high temperature conditions where a smaller size of bearing is the standard and where the ET Series cannot meet customer needs. The EM Series bearings are much more suitable for medium and large motors where low running noise is required, or for speed reducers and vibration equipment where harsh operating conditions are the norm.
