Bearing Conference 2004 Coming in May
It's time to make arrangements to join bearing manufacturers and distributors from at least 30 countries, at the upcoming 2004 Bearing Conference and Fair. This year's seventh annual Conference is being held May 13th through the 17th, Thursday through Sunday, in the Eastern European city of Bratislava, Slovakia. On the Danube only 30 miles from Austria's Vienna airport, Bratislava is will be celebrating the country's entrance into the European Union and their production of ball and roller bearings for nearly a century. eBearing interviewed Ian McPherson, the organizer of these Bearing Conferences, about the 2004 event. "The 2004 Conference program will be more informal," he said, "allowing the chance for all delegates to freely discuss and obtain industry information. New announcements on bearing computer sourcing will be made, together with a Newlook Bearing Journal handbook and the information gained via educational aids from your eBearing." There will be daily presentations in the conference hall, along with continuous opportunities for networking, and the 2nd Bearing Research Forum on Saturday. HTC-Holding / Kinex-KLF / ZKL will be hosting tours of their bearing manufacturing facilities on Friday over the course of the four-day program, open to any delegate from any country. For travel and registration information, exhibiting, more details and the conference schedule, visit the Bearing Conference 2004 website: The Hotel Forum Bratislava is the host hotel for this year's Conference. Situated in the heart of Bratislava, the Hotel Forum Bratislava is an Intercontinental hotel featuring 209 rooms, four resturaunts and cafes, along with necessities such as satellite television and wireless high-speed Internet access. The entertainment package includes exciting nightlife with typical Slovak food, folk dancing and trips to the winery for sampling. Local guides will be there to offer tours around Bratislava, including the "old town" and castles. An optional tour to Prague is offered on Sunday. Mr. McPherson said to remember the conference is independent: "The Bearing Conference is designed ONLY for the bearing industry and not governed by exclusive memberships or protocol that stifles genuine debate. This is the eighth year such a conference has been operating, with over 700 delegates attending, certainly a milestone in terms of global networking and contacts."
