China: NSK Set China Technology Center in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province

On 9th Dec. 2003,the ceremony of China Technology Center of NSK opened in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province. Mayor of Kunshan-Zhang Guohua, president of NSK, director of Luoyang Bearing research institute-Dr. Luo Jiwei, President of Microsoft (China)-Dr.Tang Jun, vice president of Henan Technology University-Zhou Yan and other experts from institutes, universities and bearing industry attended the ceremony. As the first foreign captical research center located in Kunshan, China Technology Center of NSK was strongly supported by the local government. NSK was established in 1916 and have been the leading manufacturer of bearing of the world. In 1993,NSK set the first bearing joint venture in Kunshan and invested twice. The total value of investment cost nearly $200 million, which can produce bearing more than 200 million pcs/year, the value of sales is $100 million. The person in charge of research center expressed that, as a long history bearing enterprise, NSK have been keeping its products advanced. After setting 5 production bases and now the establishment of research center in China, which showed that NSK would throw into more development and research to develop products that meet Chinese customers.
