USA: Ford to source $US1 billion in parts from China in 2004 - report
Ford expects to source about $1 billion in automotive parts from China next year, its chairman and chief executive Bill Ford said on Tuesday, according to Reuters. Bill Ford also told reporters that Ford may eventually open the door to exports from its vehicle operations in China, the report added. "At some point we could see exporting out of China," Ford reportedlysaid. Reuters noted that the US based car maker announced in October that it would boost investment in China's fast-growing market by more than $1 billion over the next few years as part of ambitious expansion plans there.
