JTEKT Corporation Will Participate in 40th Tokyo Motor Show JTEKT Corporation will display its technology and products at the upcoming 40th Tokyo Motor Show to be held October 26 (Fri) through November 11 (Sun) at the Makuhari Messe exhibition center on the outskirts of Tokyo (in Chiba Prefecture). 1. Theme: "Real Quality - Pursuing the essence of automotive technology" This theme expresses JTEKT's stance of striving continually to better grasp the essence of man, technology, and society. Through the creation of advanced technology and an unwavering dedication to the principles of Japanese "monozukuri" manufacturing excellence, JTEKT aims to provide products that improve fuel efficiency, reducing the burden automobiles place on the environment, as well as vehicle safety. 2. Outline of display JTEKT will display products that stretch from the present into the future. Of particular interest will be JTEKT's "Motion Management System," which showcases various products featuring advanced technology and excelling in environmental friendliness, safety and user comfort that have been combined to form an integrated vehicle control system. In addition, JTEKT will introduce its lineup of steering systems, bearings, and driveline components. 3. Main product displays (1) This event will mark the first time JTEKT has displayed in Japan its JTEKT Involute Chain for continuously variable transmissions (CVTs), which features higher efficiency, higher torque efficiency and lower noise than existing CVT metal belts. (2) A Tire Force Sensing Hub Unit that detects five of the six tire force components with greater speed and precision and contributes to vehicle active safety; a Super-Low-Friction Torque Tapered Roller Bearing that has 80% less torque loss than the conventional bearing and whose application in automobile differentials enables a two percent improvement in fuel efficiency; and other advanced bearing and driveline products. (3) Various world-class steering systems, including the Rack-Direct-Drive type electric power steering with Electronic Variable Gear-Ratio integrated currently installed in a Lexus model and a futuristic steer-by-wire system. (4) A wide lineup of products related to drive force transmission such as Intelligent Torque Controlled Couplings(ITCC) and Torsens, whose application on SUVs is increasing.
