U.S. Commerce in Ball Bearing Duty Revisions The U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, is conducting administrative reviews of antidumping orders on ball bearings and components from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. These reviews, covering May 1, 2005 through April 30, 2006, were triggered by requests filed by affected manufacturers operating in the United States. In total, ball bearings and components from 21 different manufacturers are under review. Note that producers in China are not being reviewed; the U.S. DOC rescinded antidumping orders on ball bearing and components from China. Similarly, duties on bearings from Singapore were rescinded in August 2006. This investigation, therefore, only involves Singapore from May 1, 2005 through July 10, 2005. In making its findings and determinations, the ITC research uses various forms of documentation, from sales to financial records, but also includes on-site visits. In these reviews, the ITC performed on-site inspections of Aisin Seiki, Mori Seiki, Schaeffler Germany, and SKF Italy. The calculations and methodologies involved are lengthy and complex.
