U.S. Commerce Requests Comments on Duty and Tariff Reviews The U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, Import Administration is requesting your input on potential reviews of several antidumping and countervailing duty orders covering bearings. Every year, on the anniversary an antidumping or countervailing duty order (including findings and suspended investigations), any "interested party" (essentially referring to any company impacted by the decision) may request the Department conduct an administrative review (AR) of that specific duty order. If you qualify as an "interested party" (see Tariff Act of 1930, Section 771[9]), your input is requested and must be received by May 31, 2007. Six key bearing antidumping and countervailing duty orders are involved this cycle, listed by Commerce Case Number : A-427-801 FRANCE : Ball Bearings and Spherical Plain Bearings Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007 A-428-801 GERMANY : Ball Bearings Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007 A-475-801 ITALY : Ball Bearings Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007 A-588-804 JAPAN : Ball Bearings Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007 A-559-801 SINGAPORE : Ball Bearings Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007 A-412-801 UNITED KINGDOM : Ball Bearings Period covered: 5/1/2006 through 4/30/2007 Commerce instructions, in part: In accordance with section 361.213(b) of the regulations, an interested party as defined by section 771(9) of the Act may request in writing that the Secretary conduct an administrative review. For both the antidumping and countervailing duty reviews, the interested party must specify the individual producers or exporters covered by an antidumping finding or an antidumping or countervailing duty order or suspension agreement for which it is requesting a review, and the requesting party must state why it desires the Secretary to review those particular producers or exporters. If the Interested party intends for the Secretary to review sales of merchandise by an exporter (or a producer if that producer also exports merchandise from other suppliers) which were produced in more than one country of origin and each country of origin is subject to a separate order, then the interested party must state specifically, on an order-by-order basis, which exporter(s) the request is intended to cover. The notices received will be published in the Federal Register under "Initiation of Administrative Review of Antidumping or Countervailing Duty Order, Finding, or Suspended Investigation" on May 31, 2007. If no notices are received, Commerce will inform Customs to continue assessments as they stand.
