Norplex-Micarta Announces RTB320X for Fine Machining Applications Norplex-Micarta, a leading manufacturer of high performance thermoset composites, announces the RTB320X, a tubing material for electrical and mechanical applications that require fine machining, such as retainer rings and cages for ball bearings. The RTB320X is composed of an extra-fine weave linen cloth reinforcement and phenolic resin, offering low moisture absorption and excellent dimensional stability. RTB320X has a distinct advantage when used for ball bearing retainer rings and cages. Other materials, such as steel, require frequent re-lubrication to reduce the wear on steel bearing balls. With RTB320X, lubricant is applied once and remains active for the life of the bearings. RTB320X is manufactured in the standard length of 48¡± (1219mm) with inside diameters ranging from 0.187¡± ¨C 48¡± (4.75mm ¨C 1219mm), outside diameters ranging from 0.250¡± ¨C 50¡± (6.35mm ¨C 1270mm), and wall thickness ranging from 0.031¡± ¨C 1¡± (0.79mm ¨C 25.4mm). RTB320X is also suitable for cams, gaskets, collars, sleeves, brake linings, timing wheels, hydraulic rings, light-duty gears, and thrust washers. RTB320X meets requirements of NEMA/ASTM Grade LE for tubing.
