SKF Appoints Mike McGrath Vehicle Service Market President

SKF has appointed Mike McGrath as president of the SKF Vehicle Service Market (VSM), North America, effective immediately. McGrath will report to Rutger Barrdahl, president of the global SKF Vehicle Service Market. "Mike's appointment as president was a very logical decision based on his experience and knowledge of the North American marketplace," said Barrdahl. "Mike will continue the growth and success of SKF through his leadership and visions." McGrath will focus on managing sales activities, along with continuing to build on SKF's research and development initiatives. Additionally, under McGrath's direction, SKF North America will work to expand its customer relationships and solidify its leadership positions in the industry through use of the five SKF competency platforms: bearings and units; seals; lubrication; mechatronics; and services. "This is an exciting step for me personally and professionally," adds McGrath. "One of my primary goals will be to continue to strengthen the ties between our customers and our products and services. We also will make a strong effort to add products to our assortment with the intention of better serving our customers." Previously vice president of sales for SKF VSM, North America, McGrath has served the automotive and heavy duty industries for 25 years. He is a member of the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) and the Automotive Warehouse Distributor Association (AWDA). McGrath will continue to work from SKF's Elgin, IL office.
