US Machine Tool Demand in Sep Increases 43.1% Year-on-year Machine tool demand in the US witnessed a sharp increase in September from the same period of last year, said the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association (AMTDA) and the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT). According to the figures released by the two associations on Sunday, the demand for machine tools in the US totaled US$407.21 million in September, up 43.1% from US$284.47 million in September 2005. The figures also indicated a rise from August, the associations added.
