Ferro Recruits Timken Exec

Ferro Corp., the Cleveland-based specialty chemicals maker, has recruited the controller and senior vice president of finance of Timken Co. as its new chief financial officer and vice president. Sallie B. Bailey will join Ferro on Jan. 2 and replace Thomas M. Gannon, who has been in the position since he joined the company in 2003. Ms. Bailey will report to Ferro president and CEO James Kirsch. Mr. Gannon is pursuing interests outside of Ferro, according to a statement from the company. At Timken, the Canton-based maker of ball bearings and steel, Ms. Bailey oversees the global treasury, financial reporting, tax, and financial performance and planning functions, according to the Ferro statement. She joined Timken in 1995 as director of finance. Before Timken, she was with Tenneco Inc. in Houston and Deloitte & Touche in Chicago. She also currently serves as a director of Milacron Inc., a global manufacturer of plastics processing equipment and supplies.
