Russia and China Expanding Small-sized Machinery Exports to Uzbekistan

Expanding their exports of small-sized machinery exports to Uzbekistan, China and Russia are expected to ship US$2 million worth of this category of machinery this year. Although Uzbekistan's small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) have seen a prosperous development in recently years, they still encounter difficulties in raising capitals and in import channel when importing machinery on their own. To resolve this problem, a small-loan bank was set up this May to satisfy SMEs' capital needs, following a proposal made by President of Uzbekistan Islam Abduganievich Karimov in the beginning of the year. In the meantime, the country's state-owned enterprise, named "§µ§Ù§å§Ý§Ô§å§â§Ø§Ú§ã§Ñ§Ó§Õ§à" in Uzbekistan language, took up the role of accepting purchase orders from 225 districts of the country. The purchase orders are then classified and passed to customs at once. Currently, this company has established business contacts with several dozen Chinese and Russian enterprises.
