Chains, Bearings And Actuators On Show
Igus has been exhibiting at SED for the past 8 years and will be showing off its latest heavy duty cable chains, polymer plain bearings for extreme loads and new belt drive actuator at the show this time around. System E4/4 'heavy duty' energy chains are ideal for guiding heavy cables on access platforms, heavy construction equipment and large cranes, because they can cope with tough, dirty conditions and high speeds. The reinforced polymer chain is designed to withstand and guide extreme loads of up to 30kg reliably, at speeds of more than 5m/s. These values can be increased many times over with the use of centre straps, so that high electrical charges can be carried at great speed. Igus has developed a new extreme polymer material to complement its range of plastic plain bearings. Iglidur Z510 bushes can take loads of up to 300MPa, which means new high load, pivoting applications for high-performance, maintenance-free bearings are now possible, for example in access equipment, construction machines or diggers. The new bearing material also withstands permanent operating temperatures of 260 degrees. Igus will also be launching its brand new belt drive actuator ZLW. The belt drive offers users a low cost way of positioning anything in a linear fashion. Igus UK will be exhibiting on Stand 24 in the Pavilion at SED 2006.
