Polymer Plain Bearings Take Extreme Loads
Igus UK has released a 'white paper' detailing a new polymer plain bearing material for extreme loads. The paper describes how the newly igus-developed polymer material, iglidur Z510, can cope with pressures and temperatures not previously achievable with polymer plain bearings. The practical laboratory results unveiled in the report support the use of iglidur Z510 bearings in those applications demanding permanently high operating temperatures, high pressure resistance and dimensional stability. The new bearing material is extremely resistant to chemicals and is characterised by low water absorption. Just like all other igus polymer plain bearings, iglidur Z510 is maintenance and corrosion-free and can be supplied immediately ex-stock.
