SKF, a world leader in bearing technology and related products, has developed the Endoscope TMES 1, a tool that allows viewing of applications that would normally be inaccessible and invisible to the naked eye. The Endoscope TMES 1 has a tip diameter of 8 mm (0.32 in) to allow access to many industrial applications and can be bent to a radius of 40mm (1.8in). It is suitable for industrial use with a manually adjusted focus and a one metre waterproofed flexible fibre cord. The TMES 1 is ideal for the inspection of small/tight or normally inaccessible locations and is a low cost and effective way of checking the visual condition of item not accessible. It has a built in light source with variable intensity to make sure that the subject viewed is clearly seen. The light source is powered by three 1.5 v (LR14-C) batteries, which are not included. SKF¡¯s Endoscope TMES 1 offers a 60 degree field of view and typical applications include gearboxes, bearings, compressors, crankcases and turbine blades.
